How to take your measurements
Bust
Measurement does not pertain to bra size. Wrap a tape measure under arms, keeping the tape comfortably loose. Measure around the fullest part of the bust. Ensure that the tape measure is parallel to the floor.
Height
Stand barefoot with a straight posture.
Regular - For women 5' 4" - 5' 7"
Petite - For women 5' 4" and under - Sleeves are slightly shorter. The body is adjusted proportionately throughout. Pant inseam is 2" shorter than regular.
Tall - For women 5' 7" and taller - Sleeves are slightly longer. The body is 1" longer. Pant inseam is 2" longer than regular.
Waist
Keeping the tape measure comfortably loose, measure around the smallest area of your waist.
Hips
With feet together, keeping the tape measure comfortably loose, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of the hips.
Inseam
Stand with your shoes on and measure from the crotch to the bottom of the shoe.

I bought these to use when I'm riding in my side by side. I bought a 4X and they fit but as soon as I would sit down the snaps would pop. The designer should either insert 2 stretchy v panels in the sides or just use stretchier material all over...

I got the 2x knowing that this type of pant often has very little stretch. I usually wear a size 18 pant if stretchy, sometimes a 20. Dresses 1-2X. These pants are very high waisted which I like, but tight on me across the lower belly and hip with very little stretch. The waistband does expand, but the pant is cut fairly straight through the hip. Depending on where you carry weight and how you are built, you might need to size up. The legs are very loose.
