I love these classic style shorts and wish I'd bought the black as well. I really appreciate the little drawstring for cinching. The linen makes them hang so beautifully and they are cool even on the warmest days. The gold colour is surprisingly versatile, and not only goes with black and white but also pairs well with their blue or multicoloured tanks. I'm 5'8" and these shorts hit me mid knee, so i wouldn't call them sporty.

I tried on a pair of these shorts in a size X and found them riding up in the crotch so I ordered a 1X. 4 days later they arrived but were several sizes too large (seemed like a 4 or 5X). I returned them only to find there were on more on-line so, I took a refund. Now, I see you have X, 1X and 2X only 2 days later. What gives?

as another reviewer has mentioned, these are indeed super long, and also extremely high waisted. I'm 5'9 and when I wear them at my natural waist (ie totally over my belly) they hit my knee, and if I pull them waaayyyy up to right under my bust they hit me mid-thigh. you can absolutely size down, but I think I'll keep mine for a SUPER relaxed, breezy, casual afternoon deal (NO chance of chafing ANYWHERE).

I love these shorts. I am 5ft 8 inches and they come just above my knees. I was looking for longer shorts to go out in and these fit the bill. The fact that they are a linen blend and a loose fit makes them super cool for this super hot summer in the west.

As someone who typically dislikes shorts of any kind, these are ones I'm enjoying. I bought them to go with the matching linen jacket to wear at the office. The black work great however the "antique gold" mustard color is not a flattering shade for me so I returned. Pull on short with elastic waistband and string belt. For me these fit large. I'm typically a size 18-20 and the 2X is generous, I would prefer a size down. I'm 5'7" and the hem hits my knees which I like so they don't ride up. Love the pockets.

I bought these in both colours, and I adore them. I'm 5'8" and a size 20 in jeans -- 1X fits comfortably loose and hits right at my knees. They're light and airy, and the pockets are deep. I've worn them everyday since I got them -- they're great!
